My mummy

My mum is my saviour,
A ray of shining light.
She used to kiss my forehead,
And tuck me in every night.

She answered my every question,
And listened to my chatter.
And even when her head hurt,
She said it didn’t matter.

With changing time and age,
My wealth of questions remained.
But the person that could answer them,
Was the same woman whose love never waned.

This person was you mum,
The woman who gave me life.
The person to this day,
Is always there if I’m in strife.

But you are no longer just my mum,
You are also a grand parent.
To a little person who loves you,
And your love for her is apparent.

Throughout life’s many twists and turns,
You have remained a constant friend.
A true gift from god,
Someone for which I know I can depend.

Thank you for your courage,
And thank you for your strength.
But most of all thank you mum,
For your love for which there is no length.
