Why is it so hard?

Why is it so hard,
To tell you how I feel,
To tell you that I care for you,
And what I feel is real.

I know that we’ve just met,
And I too thought this was weird,
But from the moment we first spoke,
It was something I feared.
That my feelings for you would grow,
And I’d be too afraid,
To tell you that I like you,
And from me you would fade.

For I don’t claim to be good looking,
And I’m not the brightest in the class,
But the friendship I can offer you,
Is something I hope we can’t surpass.

I fear that if I tell you,
What I try to keep inside,
That our friendship it will cease,
And from me you will hide.

When I look into your blue eyes,
I see the perfect friend,
Yet when I start to look further,
A different message I want to send.

For me it’s not that easy,
To express just how I feel,
For last time I was hurt,
It took a long time for the wound to heel.

Rejection is a loss,
I simply can’t deny,
For it makes me feel as though,
My intuition is all a lie.

So_ _ _ I hope now you can see,
Why I can’t come out and say,
That I’d really like to see you,
As more then just a friend one day.

Daddy Don’t Go

You said you’d be back soon,
That three years wasn’t a long time.
You said you’d be back soon,
That your love will always be mine.
You said you’d be back soon,
And you held me really tight.
You said you’d be back soon,
You said “Rosey it’s all right”.
You said you’d be back soon,
Then you took me by the hand.
You said you’d be back soon,
That you had to go to a far off land.
You said you’d be back soon,
And you told me not to worry.
You said you’d be back soon,
But daddy was in a hurry.
You said you’d be back soon,
But that was just a lie.
You said you’d be back soon,
That you didn’t mean to make me cry.
You said you’d be back soon,
But that wasn’t meant to be.
You said you’d be back soon,
Then another love made you forget about me.
You said you’d be back soon,
But now I’m all grown up.
You said you’d be back soon,
Daddy’s love will keep me tough.
You said you’d be back soon,
You told a little girl.
You said you’d be back soon,
And you played with her little curl.
You said you’d be back soon,
Your daughter I want to be.
You said you’d be back soon,
Daddy that little girl was me.
You said you’d be back soon,
And still it’s just a lie.
You said you’d be back soon,
That’s always followed by goodbye.
You said you’d be back soon,
As you wiped away a tear.
You said you’d be back soon,
And still I wait year after year.

Leaving

When you walked out of my world,
I thought the pain would never end.
Like a shadow in the bushes,
You’d appear then transcend.

You were like a precious diamond,
That sparkled all day through,
And your love I thought was true.
But I didn’t mean as much,
As much as I loved you.

You left me for another love,
That is what hurt most.
But then you went around,
And had the gall to boast.

You hurt me how,
How much you’ll never know.
How much I cried,
I nearly died,
You hurt me so,
The day you had to go.
