A Mother’s Wish

The tear I shed
You will never see
But it is for you
For you and me.

I wish to see
Your little smile
To hold your hand
Just for awhile.

I want to hold you
In my arms
To caress your head
Know all the charms.

I long to be with
My little one
I want to be whole
I don’t want to run.

I need to feel
Like I am complete
I don’t want to feel
Like I need to compete.

I am a good person
I do everything right
There has to be
An end in sight.

To the trials my body
Has put me through
That means that I
Have to wait to meet you.

But it will happen
I know it will
And my want for a child
My life will fulfill.

I will remain strong
I won’t give up hope
My friends and my family
By my side I will cope.

Life isn’t fair
And it never will be
But I won’t give up hope.
You wait and see.

Because I am a good person.
I’ve been put to the test
But I will stay strong
And shut out the rest.

The negativity and hurt
That I have gone through
It will all be worth it one day
When I meet you.

Happy 30th Birthday Lil Sis

A big sister I became.
To a special little person,
Jayde was her name.

She held my little finger,
And gave me a little smile.
Her face was like an angel,
While her nappies, they were vile.

She touched my heart so gently,
And screamed really loud.
But that didn’t matter,
Because I was so very proud.

There was an instant bond,
When you came into my life.
But I should have known then,
That I was going to be in strife.

It was the twinkle in your eye,
That should have given it away.
That said no matter what,
My house is where you would always want to stay.

We have always been so different,
Unique in our own special way.
You liked to play with cars,
While I liked to clean all day.

I prefer the opera,
You prefer hard rock.
I drove you to school,
You drove me around the block.

You like to party,
I like to stay at home.
I like to save money,
Where as you’d prefer a loan.

Then one day you left,
And we said our goodbyes.
As I watched you take an adventure,
Flying high into the skies.

It was one of many of life’s journeys,
That you would take me on.
For as your older sister,
I missed you most when you were gone.

While we sometimes fight like cats and dogs,
And we are like chalk and cheese.
When we need each other,
There’s no need to even say please.

Our personalities are different,
And our looks aren’t the same.
But none of that even matters,
Because your big sister I remain.

I am so very proud of you,
And all that you’ve become.
You are so very special,
And you should be proud of what you have done.

I love you more then ever,
And admire your many quirks.
But our differences are insignificant,
Because as sisters we are a team that works.

So happy birthday Jadey,
Or so your friends would say.
But from me your big sis,
Have a very special 30th birthday.

Pre-Prep Year Blues

With the sharpest of minds
And a twinkle in her eye
I just saw my babies life
Fly right on by.

With ribbons in her hair
And new shiny shoes
Mummy now has the
The pre-prep year blues.

Gone are the cheeks
That I used to squeeze
Replaced with a grin
And manners such as please.

I am now left to wonder
Have I done enough?
Should I have read to her more?
Have I been too tough?

Will she miss her mummy,
Will she still need me to hold her tight?
Will she still need;
Her mummies kiss goodnight?

I miss her already,
Her constant chatter and stares.
For I hope that she knows,
That the love her mummy has for her….well nothing compares.

Christmas

Christmas and friends
Go hand in hand.
And for those with family
In a far off land,
Remember to say thanks
For the year gone by
And remember those
Who are no longer close by.
With joy in your hearts
And a smile on your face
Don’t let a Christmas drink
Make you a disgrace.
Dance and sing
With your family and friends
And be grateful for the gifts
That Santa sends.
Merry Christmas my friends
My family and all
It is time for bed
Now that it’s night fall.

Dear Funny Man

Dear funny man
Tell me about your life
Tell me how you like to laugh
Tell me about your wife.

Dear funny man
Tell me a joke
Tell me a funny story
Tell me how you became such a good bloke.

Dear funny man
Tell me about your day
Tell me about your kids
Tell me how you keep your demons at bay.

Dear funny man
What’s behind the smile
What’s behind the jokes and laughter
Why do you feel like you are on trial?

Dear funny man
You don’t see what others see
You don’t see that you are funny
You don’t see you like me.

Dear funny man
Your eyes reveal the truth
Underneath the smoke and mirrors
Your soul reveals the innocence of youth.

Dear funny man
It’s time to say goodbye
May your jokes live on forever
While the rest of us mourn and cry.

For mummies to be

My back is sore
I pee all day
I often forget
What I was about to……. say.

My tummy is stretched
My boobs are big
When I try to get up
I feel like I need a special rig.

My feet are puffy
My hair’s falling out
And my love for sweet things
Well there is no doubt.

My calves they cramp
I cannot sleep
And then there are the times
For no reason I weep.

So what makes this tolerable
I hear you ask
Well god has given me
An extra special task

To grow another human being
Whose life depends on me
To keep them safe and warm
And then my son or daughter they will be.

For I may be in pain
With bags under my eyes
But I am about to give birth
To life’s greatest prize.

Talk to me

While there are times in your life
Where the darkness will overwhelm
Don’t let that darkness
Take over you or keep you down.

Seek help from those around you
Take comfort from your friends
Don’t let it be a time
For when life’s journey ends.

Your family want to know
If there is something they can do
Do not shut them out
They are there to help you.

Pick up the phone and make a call.
Don’t leave a message they won’t understand
Never assume they know what’s coming
Ask for a helping hand.

Your family and friends
Can help if you want to talk
So come on mate take my hand
Let’s sort this out and go for a walk.

As we wonder tell me your troubles.
I will always have time in my day
To listen to your thoughts
I will not judge what you have to say.

Do not dwell on what has happened
The past is in the past
But mate I want to help you
Make our friendship forever last!

Ashes in the wind

We stand here today
To honour those passed.
And share the love of two people
Forever in our hearts.

You married so young
And built solid foundations.
And then produced
Four of god’s greatest creations.

Your home was always full
Of the smell of fresh treats.
While the noise from downstairs
Meant new toys from hammer beats.

Your bowling prowess
Was admired by all.
And for many long years
You kept rolling that ball.

Then along came the grandkids
The great grandkids and more love.
But you were never afraid.
To get stern and give them a shove.

Christmas was the best
With your home a festive feast.
Our tummies were full
To the brim to say the least.

Then when two became one
We did our best to cope.
And we were left with our Boompa
Boy was he a top bloke!

The memories we created
And the love that we shared.
Will live within us all
And cannot be compared.

Your souls are now one
And you are reunited again.
And it is with a heavy heart
That we say goodbye and amen.

N.B – Written for my grandparents. Two of the most special people in my life.

Various Verses

Read me like a book,
Let my features be the words.
Read me like a book,
Let your thoughts be heard.
Read me like a book,
Let your eyes be the light.

 ————————————————————————————————————————————-

People say to be an individual,
One must stand alone,
And look past conformity.
This shows you have grown.

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Is it wrong to want the best,
Or charge ahead, ahead of the rest.
Is it wrong to envy those,
Who sit back and do nothing,
Yet get all the pro’s.
Is it wrong to want to live,
And take what you cannot give.
I need a life,
Amongst the lies.
I need to die,
Feel free to cry.
Help me god,
Give me wings to fly.

 ————————————————————————————————————————————-

I step into uncharted territories.
To discover myself.
I’m learning to grow,
Mature.
I’m leaning to walk,
To talk.
I’m learning to explore.
The mirror reflects an image,
But is this me?

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Get over him!
Do you still like him?
My god!
You’re obsessed!
Find someone else!
EVER WONDERED WHAT
A BROKEN RECORD SOUNDS LIKE.
If you don’t understand, don’t try to help!!!

  ————————————————————————————————————————————

They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, then poetry is the words of the soul. It is the emotions that can be spoken without speech, just as the eyes can see without being opened.

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Life’s many wonders
Rush through my mind.
As I try to sleep,
The messages so clear.
The thoughts so precise.
It is so late,
The darkness surrounds.
Yet, my mind is full of thoughts.
All rushing to be recognised.
As tiredness engulfs,
My weary eyes.
I am overwhelmed.
By wonder and thought.

 ————————————————————————————————————————————-

No one understands the great unknown,
The uncharted territories of the mind.
The key that makes individual clocks tick.
They try to understand,
Then close the door.
The parallels are too great.
Mist and fog that are the barrier.
They want to break through,
And understand.
Or do they just pretend.
The darkness surrounds,
My thoughts are blind.
Loneliness is the feeling,
Surrounding my heart, soul and body.
In a world of my own,
I dream, and yet cannot escape.
The bars and chains of life.
Reality is my jail!
Fantasy is the key!

*Acceptance is a word everyone needs to know and understand!

*Seek refuge within your heart, for that is where your soul lies.

————————————————————————————————————————————-

*Your spirit is an extension of your inner being.

  ————————————————————————————————————————————

*Endeavouring to discover and find yourself are the real meanings of life!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

*Entwine your fingers around mine, like a vine to a tree. Yet do not hold too tight for like the tree that provides stability and support, too tight an embrace may cause its demise.

*If love were a flower mine would be dead!!!!!!

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Am I to blame for what could have been?
People always say I should think before I act.
This time I didn’t
And it cost me my life.
It has been so long
Yet we cannot go back
Turn the clock back
And make things right.
Am I a fool to think he could love me?
I ruined my life
And all for the sake of having a say…

 ————————————————————————————————————————————-

Time is a precious gift
We never know how much we have
So it is not until we lose it
Or come close to the edge
That we begin to appreciate it

————————————————————————————————————————————-

Strength is a power
That lies within.
Mind over matter
That’s how you win.
Don’t tell me you can’t
I don’t want to hear it.
Go out and try
Aim to achieve it.

  ————————————————————————————————————————————

Peace is an inner tranquillity.
A harmony granted to those
With no qualms about life.

————————————————————————————————————————————-

I cannot control the anger the lies within.
It lays dormant and hidden for so long
That when the volcano erupts
The feelings of hurt and betrayal come out.

The will to live is for some a constant question mark. A contemplation between mind and body.

Trust

Trust is something that must be earned.
It is not something that can be learned.
For to have trust in someone is to know them well.
And trust, trust that they will never tell.
